I have been making this quilt for the last month. I used a load of scrap pieces I had in pinks and purples and cut out 4 inch squares and joined them together in a random pattern. Then I added a border around the outside using Amy Butler Love Paradise fabric which I thought went really well with the pinks and purples and sets off the quilt. I used some more smalle scraps up around the edge as binding. This quilt was hand quilted and it took me about two weeks to do the quilting on and off. I think I get a better result from the hand quilting as I feel I am more in control than using the machine.
The quilt is 54 inches by 64 inches approx.

Fourth Denim Quilt
I have finished off the fourth denim quilt for my nieces for Christmas. This one I used black and grey jeans and used browns and oranges in the fabrics to go with it. I have not added buttons to this one as I have put a fabric patch on each square instead of every other square. It is backed with a cotton sheet. Here are a couple of photos.
The red chequer around the outside is not part of the quilt, it is just a blanket I laid on the floor first to try to keep the quilt a bit cleaner.

The Other Grandson's Camoflage Bag
Well, it had to happen lol, Ryan got home yesterday and his brother Leam wanted a bag too so he rung up this morning to see if he could come down and make one.
We used another piece of fabric from Mooloo and he was very pleased with the result. Here are some photos.

Grandson's Camoflage Bag
My grandson Ryan wanted to make a bag for his next sewing project. The lovely Mooloo sent me some nice camoflage fabric and he chose some to make it out of so yesterday he had a marathon sewing lesson. Here is the finished article.
He sewed all the seams buy hand using a double thread and some nice small stitches. Took him from 1.00pm until 6.30pm. He put in a lining which had a pocket for his cards (he is a budding magician).
Here is a picture of him looking proud carrying his lovely bag.

Appliqued Patchwork Heart Cushion
This is another cushion I have made, this time for my youngest daughter for Christmas. I drew a heart shape onto some white cotton and then covered it with some patches of pretty pink fabric scraps and zigzaged around the edges in black. Then I cut out the heart and sewed the whole thing onto the flowery fabric.
The reverse of this cushion has the same saying as the flower cushion.

Flower Cushion
This cushion I have made for my eldest daughter for Christmas. I found an old skirt that someone had given me that was white cotton with some green embroidered flowers on which I cut up to use as the background, then cut out the shapes of the petals using different textured and coloured fabrics and finally added some beads and sequins to the front as extra detail.
The reverse side has a lovely saying that I saw in a magazine which I embroidered onto some white cotton sheeting. The buttons are recycled from an old garment.
Here is a close up of the writing.
