Flower Cushion

This cushion I have made for my eldest daughter for Christmas.  I found an old skirt that someone had given me that was white cotton with some green embroidered flowers on which I cut up to use as the background, then cut out the shapes of the petals using different textured and coloured fabrics and finally added some beads and sequins to the front as extra detail.

The reverse side has a lovely saying that I saw in a magazine which I embroidered onto some white cotton sheeting.  The buttons are recycled from an old garment.

Here is a close up of the writing.
